Developmental psychology is a broad field that offers many career opportunities for students. Some of our graduates have gone on to work in educational, medical, and social service settings. Some have elected to pursue advanced studies leading to Masters or Doctorate degrees in psychology and education. Here's a brief sampling of what some of our alumni have done. Shayne Piasta '04 completed her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology at Florida State University. She is now a post-doc at Ohio State University. Another good place to look for information about developmental psychology is the site of the Society for Research in Child Development. Rankings of Ph.D. programs in Developmental Psychology are available through U.S. News and World Report, but be aware that there are many excellent programs that are not on this list. |
