More About Developmental Psychology 

Developmental psychology is a broad field that offers many career opportunities for students. Some of our graduates have gone on to work in educational, medical, and social service settings. Some have elected to pursue advanced studies leading to Masters or Doctorate degrees in psychology and education. Here's a brief sampling of what some of our alumni have done. 

Shayne Piasta '04 completed her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology at Florida State University. She is now a post-doc at Ohio State University.
Iris Ponte '00 completed her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology at Tufts University.
Jessica Shedd '98 completed her Masters in Education at Stanford University.
Rebecca Fauth '97 completed the Ph. D. program in Developmental Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. 
Christine Smith '97 earned a Masters at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Joann Benigno '97 completed the Ph.D. program in Developmental Psychology at the University of Florida. She is now a faculty member at Ohio University.
Tricia Striano' 95  obtained her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Emory University. She is now a faculty member at Hunter College.
Christine Ricci '93 completed her Ph.D. Developmental Psychology at the University of Massachusetts in 1997. She is presently a Research Director at Nickelodeon Television in New York City.

Information about opportunities for graduate study an be obtained at the Web site of the American Psychological Association.  Another good place to look for information about developmental psychology is the site of the Society for Research in Child Development. Rankings of Ph.D. programs in Developmental Psychology are available through U.S. News and World Report, but be aware that there are many excellent programs that are not on this list.
