Edward Isser teaches dramatic literature, Shakespearean performance, and directing. He is the author of Stages of Annihilation: Theatrical Representations of the Holocaust (1997) and has published articles and reviews in numerous journals including Modern Drama, Theatre Journal, Essays in Theater, The Shakespeare Bulletin, and The Bernard Shaw Annual. He writes program notes each year for The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., and is the Director of the Shakespeare Interactive Project.
Ed is the Executive Director of the Redfeather Theatre—a professional company in residence at Holy Cross dedicated to mounting an annual summer Shakespeare festival in Worcester. He has directed over 30 plays in academia and professionally and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
