On the Writing Front

I had a wonderful year of writing while on leave on a Guggenheim Fellowship. This June I submitted the book that I was researching and writing on the ceramic artist Toshiko Takaezu. I'm now writing a new ending for "A Family Place" (Viking/Penguin) which will be re-issued by SUNY Exceslior Press, February 2009. I am also finishing a chapter for a book on landscape and architeture at the NMH School.

On the Home Front

All is well. Sonora, my son's Bearded dragon lizard is now 15 inches long. His cat has decided to leave her alone. Her favorite food is raspberries and crickets. My husband Garth has a wonderful show of new sculptures at the BBC gallery in Hudson, NY. Our dog, Coda, passed her AKC good citizen test and will start her training to be a therapy dog this fall. As I write this, I am training for a triathalon -- a breast cancer fund raiser sponsored by Danskin. I'll swim, bike and run on July 27th with hundreds of other women and hope to cross the finish line. Wish me luck! See you in the fall. July 24, 2008
