CAVENDISH

Now a private home, the building shows several levels of sophistication.  The carved doorway and ceiling beams of the dining room are well worked, showing a central beam with circular strapwork and secondary beams with grooved molding.  The living room has lesser beams, the main with simple grooves and the secondary beams flatter with a single groove at the edges.  The kitchen’s beams are simply hewn with no effort at decorative finish.
