Many of the poems collected in this volume of
fósforo are the fruits of the Spanish Poetry Workshop organized by Dana
"Dean" Simpson, visiting professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern
Languages and Literatures during 2005-2006. Participants came to the workshop
with a varying command of Spanish, but a mutual desire to learn to write
poetry. We hope that, for some at least, seeing their first poem in print will
provide the motivation to cultivate a poetic voice that has, until now,
remained dormant. |

Muchos de los poemas recogidos en este
número de fósforo son fruto del Taller de Poesía
organizado por Dana "Dean" Simpson, profesor visitante de español en el
Departamento de Lenguas y Literaturas Modernas, durante el curso 2005-06. En
este Taller de Poesía participaron estudiantes con diferentes niveles de
conocimiento del español, pero animados todos por un enorme deseo de
aprender a escribir poesía. Quizás, para alguno de ellos, el ver
publicado su primer poema sirva de acicate para continuar desarrollando su,
hasta ahora dormida, voz poética. |
