Born in Cuba, artist Carlos Estévez grew up studying maps and navigational charts, which have influenced a body of work that includes painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and film. His art has been shown around the world and forms a part of some of today's most important collections of contemporary art. "I think that works of art transgress the words and acts," he writes. "They are men's supreme effort to conquer the universe, which is the human being itself." Mr. Estévez lives and works in Miami.

Nacido en Cuba, el artista Carlos Estévez se crió entre mapas y cartas de navegación, cuya influencia se ve en una obra que incluye pintura, dibujo, escultura, fotografía y cine. Su arte ha sido exhibido en galerías y museos en todo el mundo y forma parte de algunas de las colecciones de arte contemporáneo actuales más importantes.
