A "for
seniors, by seniors" event, the Senior Convocation invites
seniors on the eve of their last semester at Holy Cross to reflect on the challenges and accomplishments
of their first three and a half years of college and to consider
how they will use their remaining time at Holy Cross to shape
their lives and their life's work. Through a series of talks,
personal stories, pictures, music and performances, seniors are challenged
to ask themselves, "How
can I best use the time I have left at Holy Cross to shape
the person I want to become?"
Central to the event are brief talks
by two members of the senior class chosen as "Convocation
Scholars" by a committee of students, faculty and staff.
The seniors selected
use the opportunity to reflect on what they’ve gained,
who they’ve
become, and what they will take from their experiences during
their days at Holy Cross.
The program includes musical selections performed by seniors. Fr.
Michael C. McFarland, S.J., and the Class Dean also speak.
Following the Convocation, the senior class gathers for a special reception
in the Hogan Ballroom,
including music and performances.
