Founded in 1929, Crusader Council is the oldest college council in New England and the third oldest college council in Knights of Columbus.

In recent years, Crusader Council has been very active in the Worcester area. It has won awards for its work with the Nazareth Home for Boys, participated in the Matthew 25 Program, done volunteer work at Sacred Heart Church, run food drives at local supermarkets, distributed turkeys for the needy at Thanksgiving, and taken candy to children in local hospitals such as UMass Memorial Hospital. In March 2006, members of Crusader Council traveled to the Gulf to assist in reconstruction efforts after Hurricane Katrina.

For the past two years, our Grand Knights have held the coveted positions of serving on the panel of Coordinating Committee Members at the 2007 and 2008 National Knights of Columbus College Conferences in New Haven, CT. Many of our members serve at mass and our Deputy Grand Knight Matthew J. Fonte leads a Rosary every Sunday evening at 8 PM in the Champion House. Also, the Council supports a variety of charities at home and abroad, in addition to pro-life programs and the Catholic media ministry.

We are a Catholic, faith-based charity organization of life and for life, striving to live out the Columbian virtues of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism both in college and at home in our everyday lives.
