7:35AM Milan arrival; and 8:30AM depart Milan for Rome on Alitalia # 1015 ROME arriving Rome at 9:50AM; transfer by chartered bus to Rome’s Hotel Columbus; drop luggage at Hotel; lunch in the Borgo Pio; after lunch tour St. Peter’s Square and Basilica; mid afternoon return to Hotel for check-in; dinner and overnight in Hotel; after dinner orientation walk. |

AM Mass in St. Peter’s; after Mass walk to the Castello di Sant Angelo and on to ROME study the remains of Augustan Rome including the Ara Pacis (newly opened), the Mausoleum of Augustus; walk down the Via del Corso and see the Piazza di Spagna, the Fountain of Trevi and on to the Piazza Venezia; view the Capitoline Hill; return for dinner and overnight in the Hotel Columbus. |

8:30AM departure on foot for the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel; ROME (joining Dr. Bender’s group); lunch on your own; afternoon tour of the Pantheon and surrounding churches including Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, the Church of St. Ignatius and the Church of the Gesu; return for dinner and overnight in hotel; after dinner pack for trip South. |

8:00AM depart by chartered bus from Hotel Columbus for Paestum with stop in PAESTUM Pompeii; tour the site; lunch on route; early evening arrival in Paestum for lodging in the Hotel Ariston for dinner and overnight; after dinner short ride to view the temples by night. |

9AM excursion by chartered bus to the site of Paestum to study the temples, the PAESTUM city remains, and the Museum; lunch on your own; afternoon free to enjoy the facilities of the Hotel Ariston and the town of Capaccio; dinner and overnight in Hotel; after dinner pack for departure |

8:30AM departure by chartered bus to visit the Naples Museum; (time permitting) SORRENTO drive past Lake Avernus and visit Aeneas’ landing place, Cumae; lunch on route; drive to Sorrento for dinner and overnight in Sorrento at the Europa Palace Hotel (or equivalent); pack for departure |

7:45AM ALL BAGS ON THE BUS; departure from Sorrento Hotel by mini busses to CAPRI take a boat from the port to Capri arriving at the Marina Grande, Capri’s major port; ROME transfer from Marina Grande to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting); after the grotto visit, go to the Piazza Municipio in the town of Capri and begin the ascent on foot of Monte Tiberio, site of the remains of Tiberius’ Villa Iovis; picnic lunch on the top of the mountain; return to Piazza Municipio and gather to take late afternoon boat from Marina Grande to the Molo Beverello harbor in Naples; meet up with large bus to drive directly to Rome’s Airport Hilton Hotel for overnight; dinner on your own in one of the Hotel’s great restaurants; after dinner pack for return to USA |

6:30AM take the 7 minute walk from the Hotel to the airport to take Alitalia flight #1022 departing at 7:50AM, arriving in Milan at 9:10AM; then take Alitalia flight 618, leaving Milan at 10:30AM and arriving in Logan Airport at 1:30PM |
