An outstanding source of information about the Himalayas. Includes a wonderful tour of the world’s greatest mountain range. Explore pictures, videos, stories and general background information for this area. Very highly recommended.

Mountains.org
An excellent, searchable database for K-12 teachers as well as links to other sites and a collection of folktales

Excellent articles on the Legacy of Sherpa Women climbers and the first all-sherpa women’s expedition to Everest

Goes with PBS video on Bhutan. Great activities, especially on how mountains form.

An impressive database of educational materials, web-based movies, images, transcripts and essays. This is an extensive project and one of the best web-sites I have seen. Unbelievable resource.

Site on Himalayan art with flash movies and special effects. Great resource for images, statues, architecture, and thangka paintings. A section aimed at younger students deals with fables and mythological animals of the region.
