The Incredibly Important Yak

The yak is extremely useful to just about everyone in the Himalayan region. The animal is perfect for carrying equipment for climbers, but it is also a vital source of food and other products for the people in Tibet and Nepal. Yak meat is a stable food, and milk is used for making butter, which can be traded or used in religious ceremonies. The combination of a yak and a cow is a hybrid known as a zomo. A zomo can produce more milk than a yak.
