BUDDHISM

The Wheel of Samsara

"Can you find the yak?"

Buddhism

In Buddhism the soul is “the battery pack.”

Hunting and animal sacrifices are abhorred. And in India anyone can borrow anything of a religious nature.

Buddhism was introduced to Tibet in the 8 th century CE. (It was introduced in China in the 2 nd century CE)

NIKAYA – 18 strands of Buddhism were created… the Theravada (“the theories of the elders”) is the only of these to survive. Today it is found in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia and Burma. This branch of Buddhism is more sober, less ritualistic and encourages more frugal living than the Mahayana Buddhism branch. It also promises “enlightenment” in THIS lifetime and can be practiced by householders.

Created from a salient idea of another strand known as MAHASANGIKA, Mahayana Buddhism is practiced by Tibetan Buddhists monks, and those in Mongolia, Japan, China and Korea. It promises “enlightenment” over a number of lifetimes and sends the “Bodhisattva” [wise-being] to help all humankind achieve it.
