Constitution Construction in Nepal Simulation

Lesson Plan for Nepal Constitution Simulation Lesson Plan

Current events in Nepal in 2008 present an opportunity for students to observe the formation of a government, a process that ineveitably includes many competeing special interests groups with different ideas about what constitutes effective government. Nepal has considerable ethnic diversity, this translates into groups with divergent ideas about priorities and goals a new government should have.

The following is a lesson plan for a simulation activity on constitution building in Nepal. It is designed as a Global History year end review activity for high school students. This plan includes lesson plan instructions for teachers, oral and written assessment assignment sheets for students as well as a vocabulary worksheet.

A powerpoint has been included to help establish the historical back ground, the challenges Nepal's new government will face as well as a list of groups to assign the students.
