General Purpose: This website is designed for educators who are interested in helping themselves or their students learn about some eastern religions being practiced in the Himalayan Region and how that effects the culture of those areas, specifically of Tibet and Nepal.

Specific Purpose: The information contained on this website was collected to be used as a pre-reading activity for 8th grade English students reading the young adult novel Peak by Roland Smith. I hope that either some or all of this site will be helpful to you and your students.
