Ethnic Groups

 

 

In many cases a group is identified with a particular mountain or valley, not along borders.

The main groups are reflected on the map, but there are many other populations

with their own languages, customs and religious practices.

 

 

Countries

Countries of the Himalayan region include

China, India, Nepal,Tibet and Bhutan

Animal life in the Himalayans varies, depending on the geography and location of habitat.

The three major zones are Upper Montagne, Temperate zone

(Middle Mountains) and Southern or Subtropical areas.

 

If travelling to the Upper Montagne region and were very fortunate,

one might encounter a Snow Leopard.

Other animals in the Upper Montagne include

Blue Sheep, Ibex, Musk Deer, Red Sheep, Red Pandas and Wolves.

 

 

 

 

Other animals one might run into in the Middle Range

include Himalayan Bears, Leopards, Langurs, Wild Boars, and Barking deer

 

 

 

The Southern or Subtropical zone could contain

Asiatic Elephants, Gaur, Bengal Tigers, Gangetic Dolphins

Sloth Bears, and many others.
