How to form a New RSO:
- Obtain necessary paperwork from the SPI office (Hogan 230). The packet MUST include:
- A roster with a minimum of 15 member names, class years and member signatures;
- hazing forms signed by each member;
- an advisor form
- waivers for sport clubs
- a typed constitution (paperwork for this is available in Hogan 230)
- and other necessary paperwork (available in Hogan 230).
If your packet is incomplete it will not be accepted. - Once paperwork is completed, return it to the SPI Office and send an e-mail to Sean Cranshaw to inform the committee that you have sent in the proper paperwork.
- The chair, (Sean Cranshaw) will review the packet to ensure there is no information missing. At this time, you will be sent an appointment time to meet with the RSO Committee. Meetings are held on Sundays. If you miss your meeting, your request will be tabled until further notice.
- The RSO Committee will discuss the information you presented in your packet and during your meeting, and will then make a recommendation to the Senate as to whether or not the Senate should vote to approve or disapprove the group.
- If the Senate APPROVES the group: The group is then presented to the General Assembly. The General Assembly then votes to recognize or not recognize the group.
- If the Senate DISAPPROVES the group: The group does not proceed to the General Assembly, and may present itself to the RSO Committee again.
NOTE: All new RSO’s will only be eligible for a position as a Limited Status RSO, (i.e., the RSO will not have access to the Reserve Board).
