The Judicial Branch of the Holy Cross Student
Government Association thrives on finding
reasonable solutions in disputes within
the auspices of HC SGA.
Modeled upon the American system of jurisprudence,
the power of the Judicial Branch resides
in the Judicial
Council, a body of seven members
appointed by the SGA Co-Chairs and approved
by the Senate.
The
Judicial Branch is committed to a fair and
equitable hearing for both sides. It serves
as the decision maker in any disputes regarding
Recognized Student Organizations, the SGA
Constitution, and the SGA Bylaws.
As mandated by the SGA Constitution, the
Judicial Council has the ability to defer
cases to the Senate, which would then preside
over said case.
Also an active part of the Judicial Branch
is the Election
Committee. As the name implies,
the Election Committee hosts the annual
SGA elections.
