The Director of
Programming is ultimately responsible
for all SGA programs and events (including
the Family Weekend Desert Reception, Unity
Week, the Student Leadership Awards Banquet,
etc), and leading SGA's Co-Sponsorship Initiative.
He/She works towards contacting, assisting,
and working with student organizations,
while working to collect information regarding
events and programs happening on campus.
The Director of Programming is expected
to continue SGA's partnership with the American
Cancer Society for Daffodil Days and work
with the Campus Activities Board. In addition,
he/she serves as Chair of the Reserve Board
and is responsible for, with the other members
of the Reserve Board, developing a succinct
process of filing and hearing out-of-cycle
requests for funding made by student organizations.
Christina Ventresca '08 will serve as the Director of Programming for the 2005-2006 academic year. During her freshman year, she served as a freshman intern for Kara Pipoli, the 2004-2005 Director of Programming, as a student representative for the First Year Experience committee, and a dj for WCHC 88.1 FM. This year, Christina will be a tour guide and will make her HC stage debut in "Pal Joey".
In its first year of existence, Meg Coyne
'05 was the first Director of Programming,
prior to her role as Co-Chair. As Director
of Programming, Meg was an important element
in making Unity Week the annual event it
has become today. In 2003 - 2004, Jenna
Grant '04 started the Daffodil Campaign,
raising almost $10,000 for the American
Cancer Society. For 2004 - 2005 2004 - 2005, Kara Pipoli '07 was in charge.
