The Director of
Student Life Issues is ultimately
responsible for all SGA initiatives in the
area of student life. Working closely with
members of the Division of Student Affairs,
the Director of Student Life Issues works
directly the Associate Dean for Student
Life and the Associate Dean for Student
Development. Some areas of responsibility
include Residence Life, House
Councils, the InterHouse Council, Judicial
Affairs, Public Safety, and Housing and
Enrollment. He/She serves as a voting representative
in the Faculty Assembly, as well as a member
of the Committee on College Governance.
The Director of Student Life Issues is a
student representative on the Student Life
Council and serves as Chair of the SGA Committee
on Student Life Issues. Possible project
areas for next year include RA compensation,
the housing lottery, and a review of the
Community Standards.
For the 2005-2006 academic year, Meg Kenney ’06 will be serving as the Director of Student Life Issues on the Executive Cabinet of the SGA. Last year, Meg served as the President of the Campus Activities Board (CAB). As part of her job in CAB, Meg sat on the Campus Center Advisory Committee, chaired by Dean Jacqueline Peterson, and helps to evaluate space allocation on campus, particularly in the Hogan Campus Center. Meg spent the summer interning in the Student Programs and Leadership Development Office as the Program Coordinator for Gateways 2005. Meg is also a work study in the SPLD office
Besides being involved with Student Programs on campus, Meg volunteers as an Admissions Tour Guide, and is currently interviewing for the position of Senior Interviewer. Meg is a member of the Student Advisory Committee for the Religious Studies Department.

Past Directors of Student Life have included
Joe Dalton '05 who was the Director for 2004 - 2005. Mark Campbell '04 who was the Director for
the 2003 - 2004 academic year. Prior to
Mark, Shauna Crehan '04 served as the Director
of Student Life, playing an important role
in representing the student body to administration
in the policy change that forbid smoking
in dorm rooms and within a certain distance
from buildings. Brian Doyle '04 started
out in 2001 - 2002 as the Director of Student
Life and later became one of the SGA Co-Chairs
in 2002 -2003.
