The History of ABiGaLe
ABiGaLe was first conceived of in the spring of 1997 was recognized by the college in December of that year. Now, going strong for over ten years, ABiGaLe is a Recognized Student Organization (RSO) and also one of the college's many Multicultural Student Organizations (MSOs).

"Hate: Not Here" at Holy Cross
Since March 2006, Holy Cross has participated in a "No Place for Hate" campaign, from a program by the Anti-Defamation League, one of the leading civil rights and human relations agencies in the United States. Titled "Hate: Not Here", the initiative strives for "not just tolerance, but acceptance." (Read the Press Release)

Inspired in part by ABiGaLe/Allies rally in response to an openly gay student's mistreatment on campus, the campaign has become a new and very visible part of what it means to attend Holy Cross. One highlight of the 2006-2007 year was ABiGaLe's success in bringing Judy Shepard to campus to speak. Judy Shepard, mother of Matthew Shepard, who in 1998 was killed in a gay hate crime, spoke on the themes of tolerance and acceptance for all individuals. (Read the Article)
