The Safe Person / Safe Space Program
When around the Holy Cross campus, you may notice many offices and dorm rooms bearing a "Safe Person / Safe Space" sticker, featuring the symbol on the left.
The Safe Space sticker is a symbol of the safety and security that every student at Holy Cross is entitled to, regardless of their orientation, race, religion, or ethnicity. The persons bearing this sticker have taken their desire to make Holy Cross a Safe Space one step further. They have attended a workshop designed and implemented by Allies and ABiGaLe to teach conflict resolution, listening skills, and discussion facilitation. These people are ready and willing to listen, confidentially, to your questions and concerns regarding sexuality and sexual orientation. If you are confused, questioning, or being harassed, please go to one of these outstanding people and they can help you.
Please note that while anyone can display an Allies sticker, a person bearing an Allies sticker shows overall support and solidarity for and with the GLBTQ community. Only those people bearing a Safe Person/Safe Space sticker have been trained in the ideas above.
