What type of
band program were you in during high school? "My
High School was a concert band
that attempted to march once a year on Thanksgiving,
and then again on Memorial Day. We sounded good, but
we were lucky to be in step. But we had uniforms and
we tried. It was different then band at HC, we never
had a full halftime show, and the school spirit wasn't
the same. Here at HC it's clear that people don't just
expect us to be there, we're just as important to the
game as the football team."
What is your
favorite thing about Marching/Pep here at Holy Cross?
"Coming
in as a Freshmen to HC, there were so many new things,
new people, and it was overwhelming. I decided to join
the band because of the friendships I had in band in
high school. The band at HC was no different; you learn
so much from them and you're able to connect with these
people on a level you don't get anywhere else. It's
great to have friends from all of the classes, majors,
backgrounds, and viewpoints. You connect with alumni
and their families and hear stories of the old days
at Holy Cross. There's so much history at Holy Cross,
and the band plays a big part in that. By being in band
you leave your mark on the history of HC, and you make
friendships that last a lifetime."
