Interview with JP Lefave HC Club Hockey caught up with former Crusader JP LeFave '04 the other day...Here is what the stalwart defensemen had to say. HC: Jean-Paul, great to see and hear from you again. I think the last time we talked was in the locker room after the NECHA Championship last year. JP: Great to see you too. Yeah, that was an amazing way to end the season last year. To beat those guys (UNH) in that fashion was unbelievable. I still can't believe that I was called for a penalty in OT. I was (explitive) my pants in the penalty box, and you can imagine how great it was to see that puck go in the net. What a great way to end my 3.75 year career. (I was cut for the first .25 year) Couldn't have been a better group of guys. HC: Yeah, It was quite a game. Anyway, you have been out of HC 6 months now. What have you been doing? JP: I attend New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. The course load and requirements keep me plenty busy. HC: What courses have you been taking? JP: I just recently completed anatomy, histology, biostatistics and epidemiology. I am currently taking Biochemistry and Physiology. HC: Wow. Do you have time for anything else? JP: Yeah. I go to a pediatrician’s office twice a month. I read lots of textbooks and I cook stir-fry and pasta like a champ, a NECHA champ that is. HC: Do you get back on the ice at all? JP: Once in a while I can get on for a public skate, but no real hockey which is a void in my life. HC: Do you miss anything about HC and HC hockey? JP: I miss the cool, crisp air that would sting my face as I walked up to the Hart Center every practice. Also, I miss watching Coleman put on on his underarmor (wink). I miss the intellectual and physical prowess of such individuals as Gus, Uncle Ray Ray, Healy, Dekes, Sully, Cliff, Joe, Pat, and all the rest. HC: Any advice for this years team? JP: All I have to say is enjoy it while it lasts, even if the work is hard, enjoy it. You'll miss it when its over. HC: Thanks for your time JP. Hope to see you at a game sometime soon. JP: No problem. I'd love to make it to a game second semester, but only if the team promises I can shower with them after. HC: I'm sure that won't be a problem.
