MIX Mission
The Multiethnic Identity Xploration Student Organization's mission is to provide resources for students and members of the local Worcester community that deal with issues pertinent to the bi/multi-ethnic cause. Through providing meetings, programs, cultural events, speakers, and socials, MIX is determined to help assist and support multiethnic people in appreciating all of their cultural heritages and to educate others concerning multi-ethnicity.
Statement of Purpose
Multiethnic describes people characterized by two or more ethnicity's, which encompasses multiracial, which involves two or more traditional racial groups and ethnic backgrounds. MIX is formed to deal with issues pertinent to students of a mixed background that involves their understanding of their identity as minority and/or majority ethnic students. The objectives of MIX include:
- Explore the multiethnic identity through dialogue and education
- Assist and support multiethnic people in appreciating all of their
cultural heritages
- Foster acceptance of the multiethnic identity within ourselves and
in the College of the Holy Cross community
- Educate others concerning multi-ethnicity learning about ourselves
through dialogue with other
