Catholic Bishops to Urge United States Catholic Conference of Bishops to Issue Clear and Explicit Condemnation of Sanctions Against Iraq. 
 
The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops will be meeting during the week of November 11th in Washington, DC.  Bishop Thomas Gumbleton of Detroit, along with twenty-eight fellow bishops, will be calling for the conference, as a body, to make a clear and explicit condemnation of the sanctions against Iraq and to call for the immediate suspension of these sanctions! 
 
IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED!
 
1.  You are urged to write a personal letter to your local bishop before November 11 encouraging him to join Bishop Gumbleton in this effort to bring these devastating sanctions to an end. 
 
2.  Join the silent prayerful vigil at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, Washington, DC during the time that the bishops are meeting.  Please consider taking part in this witness on Sun. afternoon, Nov. 11 and on Mon., Nov. 12 starting at 8 am.
