Here are the replacement dash, door rails, door pulls and transmission
console cover. The wood is natural mahogany color, not stained, covered
by multiple layers of spar gloss polyurethane. The guage layout and
radio/speaker placement are my own design. The four toggle switches
are for heater fan, hazard lights (This was a wiring nightmare. I
had to use a 4 pole double throw relay to emulate the original switch),
engine fan (I like to be able to switch it in whenever I like.) and driving
lights (not installed yet but some day). The door rails and door
pulls (or arm rests) are patterned after the originals but, again, in mahogany.
The mahogany under the shift gaiter is 1/4" thick and just inserted over
the stock plastic one. The map light is from an earlier model MGB.
The most time consuming part of the project was all the trial versions
in pine. Once the pattern was perfected the actual construction took
only about two weeks.
