Edward Isser, professor and chair of the Department of Theatre,
worked on Broadway, off Broadway and in regional theatre as an
actor, stage manager and production manager prior to earning a
joint doctorate in Drama and Humanities from Stanford University.
After a two-year stint in the English Department at the University of
Pennsylvania, he assumed his current position at Holy Cross. Isser
is the author of Stages of Annihilation: Theatrical Representations
of the Holocaust and has published articles and reviews in numerous
journals including Modern Drama, Theatre Journal, Essays in Theater,
The Shakespeare Bulletin and The Bernard Shaw Annual. A member
of Actors Equity and SDC, he has directed over thirty academic and
professional theatre productions.
