Cratfield (Suffolk), Church of St. Mary
Seven Sacraments font of late 15th century.
Bust-length figures of angels support the bowl. On shafts are figures
of saints, at base are the four evangelists interspersed with their symbols.
Undoubtedly not in original orientation. On east (facing altar),
extreme unction, reading clockwise, crucifixion, baptism, confirmation,
(two panels hacked off; these must have been mass and penance), holy orders,
and matrimony.
