"I am a first-generation Mexican American born and raised in Fallbrook, California, near San Diego," she writes. "My family and culture inspire my artwork. I feel most at peace through art and anything relating to the creative process. Some artists that inspire me are Frida Kahlo and Paul Gauguin. I am interested in the bicultural experience and how the experience shapes the identity of people."
