The August sun sets
and welcomes September
over the whirring pillars
          on the mountains.
The girasoles all are dead now,
as the day turns to night
and this summer season
          to fall.
So August and Autumn are
          eternally linked
by the turning of a day,
of a moment,
of a star.
And so a life also turns
in the setting of the

Spanish sun.
