Ms Adams - Research Project: Trip to Nepal

Welcome!

By completing this project, students will use research and thinking skills, studying travel guides, internet resources and available texts to complete a travel brochure and diary.  Nepal is a fascinating country and ideal for the purposes of research. Students learn about a popular tourist destination while sorting through possibly conflicting information.

Travel provides a special kind of education, and learning about a country and planning the journey is an important first step. An informed and aware tourist has a more meaningful experience.

When conducting any kind of research, we need to be aware of data that is conflicting, out-of-date or
severely one-sided in its point of view. Warning: finding corroborating information does not necessarily
make it correct. Also, just because something is in print does not make it true.

This project was developed for the ELA curriculum of the School District of Philadelphia,http://www.phila.k12.pa.us.
