HIMALAYA SUMMIT: Current Issues of the Frontier
 
INDIVIDUAL ROLES: Bhutan

Student A: Tenzin
Tenzin is a 20-year-old male who has become westernized by the legalization of TV and the Internet in Bhutan.  He defies the national dress code to wear western brand name clothes.

Student B: Gem Thinley
Gem Thinley is a 24-year-old Buddhist monk living at Kyichu monestary.  He is concerned about preserving traditional values in Bhutan and protects the monestary at night from theives.

Student C: Sangay Wangchuk
This is Bhutan’s Minister of Culture who is responsible for preserving the nations culture and spiritual beliefs while moving into the 21st century.

Student D: Rinzy Dorji
He is the co-owner of Sigma Cable.  His company has been responsible for installing cable connections in the entire country of Bhutan.

Student E: A mother of two children living in Thimpu
This parent has two children, ages 9 and 3.  She is very concerned about the future of the country as more children become addicted to the television set.  (This student can create their own Bhutanese name).
