INDIVIDUAL ROLES: Tibet

Student A:  Kalsang Yulgial
The director of the refugee reception center at Dharamsala, Inida.  Dharamsala is where the Tibetan Government-in-Exile is located today.

Student B:  Chinese ‘Han’ living in Tibet 
Jiang Zhou is from Beijing and has been relocated to Lhasa with his family and child.  He will be working as a labor on the Beijing-Lhasa railroad project.

Student C:  Buddhist Monk living in Tibet
This monk still lives in Tibet where his religious practice has been repressed by the Chinese government.

Student D:  14th Dalai Lama
His Holiness lives in Dharamsala and is the leader of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile.  He fled from Tibet just before the Chinese take over in 1959.

Student E:  Yao Runwen
Yao is Han Chinese and the director of tourism for the Diqing Tibetan Prefecture.  He works with the Chinese government to transform regions of Tibet into the future Shangri-La to increase tourism to the region.
