HIMALAYA SUMMIT: Current Issues of the Frontier

STEP 6:The Himalaya Summit

A few recommendations for a successful Himalaya Summit:

  • Be sure to have students sit with their group during the Summit.  The room may need to be rearranged for a conference like environment.
  • Make name tags and/or placards for each person and group.
  • Encourage the students to dress as their individual role on the day their group presents.
  • Students may want to make posters or flyers to promote their position within their Himalaya region.
  • Allow one class period for each group to present.
  • The audience should take notes on each presentation.
  • Encourage students to ask questions each day of the Summit.
  • Remember to vote on each issue at the end of the project.  You can use a variety of voting techniques.
  • Have fun!  Bring in Himalayan food and music for the class to share!
