Shari Fried- Visual Art

This website is a compilation of lessons that I have created over the past few years related to the subject of this Institute.  I have also included my own artwork since it utilizes eastern images and text.  I developed the Hindu Gods lesson while taking an institute on India, the Jataka Tales lesson while taking an institute on China and Japan, and the Buddha lesson during a course on Eastern Religions. I wrote the Ga'u and Mandala lessons during this institute on the Himalayan Region.  There are links within each lesson to lead you to some of the related resources.  Student samples for each lesson will be added as the year goes on.  I have already implemented the Hindu lesson and Jataka lesson in my Foundations of Art, Intermediate Art, and Printmaking classes.  I plan to use the other three this year: the Buddha lesson in my Drawing class, the Ga'u lesson in my Three-Dimensional Design class, and the Mandala lesson in my Painting class.
