Geography of Buddhism

Directions: On your maps, do 1-3. #4 is answered on this sheet.
1. Write the names of countries on the appropriate geographical locations that have significant Buddhist populations.
2. Shade in your country using a color code according to whether the Buddhism practiced is primarily Theravada Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism or Tantric Buddhism.
3. Number the top ten countries which have highest proportion of Buddhists.
4. Answer the questions below as you do your research:

(1) What is the difference between these three branches of Buddhism? List the percentages that each branch has of the total number of Buddhists in the world.
