Bodnath Stupa, Kathmandu
This large stupa is in the center of the city of Kathmandu. Many climbers visit the site and some perform religious rituals, hoping that their trek up the mountains will be safe. A stupa is a Buddhist shrine, holding a religious relic. Buddhists walk around the stupa in a clockwise direction as part of the ritual. |
