Hillary and Norgay
The two men who first reached the summit and returned safely were Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzig Norgay. Neither one of them have ever claimed the credit for being the first one to step on the summit. Both have always shared the fame. Hillary and Norgay spent the rest of their lives helping the people in the Sherpa communities. |
