Movies:

Many Westerners are first introduced to Kali without even realizing it through popular movies.  These movies almost always portray Kali as the destructive, blood-thirsty patroness of “Thuggees” described by British colonials and missionaries. Kali appears in the Beatles classic Help, in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, in Matrix Reloaded, and even in an episode of Xena, Princess Warrior.
