LESSON: SUTRAS
One Thousand Tibetan Hats

In Tibet the scriptural texts are known as sutras, and for centuries were in the form of long, rectangular pages compiled under cover boards. They are wrapped in silk and tied. They are being reprinted in book form in the western sense of the word.

In this lesson, students will create together in sutra form a collection of drawings of the different styles of hats worn by Tibetans.
