This is a unit for New York State high Shcool Global Studies students. It employs clips from films on the Himalayan region. All of the lessons are aligned to the New York State Global Studies Regents standards. The unit is designed to help struggling readers and special needs students suceed on the thematic part of the Global Studies Regents. Each lesson is centered around one of the themes that appears on the Global Studies Regents. The lessons are built around central questions that are answered in essay form by watching the film. There are guiding questions for each film that help scaffold the students essay.
