                    ( The Chinese Eight-Legged Essay)

Procedure

After the students have done their research and the reports given, the teacher should add any points that have been overlooked or which need emphasizing. At this juncture a series of writing assignments will follow. Some of these are to evaluate whether the students have listened critically and comprehended the material. Each teacher should design topics suitable for that group. What follows are a few suggestions. Grading, of course, will depend upon the rubrics of the course and the other guidelines given by the teacher.

Given the volume and complexity of the material, it probably would be wise to allow the students to use any notes or other learning aids they have accumulated through this project.
