Market Questions and Comparisons

1. What do you see for sale in the market place?

2. How do you think the vendors sell the products?

3. Who do you think buys the products? Are the buyers different from market to market?

4. How is the animal market different that your local grocery store? What problems could surface?

5. What material is the carved pitcher made of? Why do you think so?

6. The animal market is only on Sunday in this particicular village. How would that make the event more important to both the sellers and the buyers?

7. What role does an artist or craftsman play in the production and sale of musical instruments?

8. What do you think the musical instruments are made of? What art tools are used?

9. What animals are used in the animal skin market? Would you see this kind of store in your neighborhood? Why or why not?

10. How does the fabric store differ from one in your community? Describe the fabrics and how they would be used.

Bonus: Compare and contrast the various markets with the western style markets of your hometown. Start with a Venn diagram at the top of the page to assist in a true comparison/contrast.
