I am a 6th grade social studies teacher at Rundlett Middle School, which is a public middle school in Concord, NH.  Our 6th grade social studies curriculum covers ancient civilizations, one of which is ancient India.  I’ve noticed that information about the ancient Indian subcontinent has been the most difficult to find of the civilizations that I teach.  Many thanks to the NEH, the sponsor of the institute, The College of the Holy Cross for hosting it, and to Todd Lewis and Leonard Van der Kuijp for bringing their own vast knowledge about the arts, literatures and religions of the Himalayan Regions to us, as well as arranging the guest lecturers who brought us even more.

My vision for this website is to create a site which teachers can use to teach about the ancient Indian subcontinent through readings, video clips, and images without needing to purchase any, or very few, materials.  The links within this site will take you directly to the maps, images, reading materials, or video clips that I refer to on each page.
