1) What are the three parts of Malinowski's organism metaphor? What different kinds of data do they involve? How do they relate to each other?
2) How would you compare Kondo and Malinowski's methods? What are the roles of objectivity and subjectivity? Can the anthropologist truly understand the other?
3) Imagine that you have been assigned to write an ethnography of Holy Cross. What would your account look like if you were to follow Malinowski's example? Kondo's? Which style do you find most useful, and why?
