THE READING PACKETS

  • Each student should receive the Reading Packet for his/her region. (click on country below)
    •    It is best to assign these readings for homework.  Allow a few days for students to read and   annotate the packet and complete the assignments listed below.  Remind Students to keep the point of view of their individual role in mind as they read each article.
  • Complete the Terms to Know handout.
  • Respond to the Response Questions.
  • Prepare for Student Seminar.

ADDITIONAL RESEARCH

    • You may want your students to engage in additional research for their individual roles.  Use the web sites references under each country and have students research two additional articles to support their role.

    • Allow one or two days of class time for students to research in the library.

STUDENT SEMINAR

  • Allow one class period for students to meet with their group to share their role's position on the analytical question.  Click here for Student Seminar suggestions.
  •  Each student should formulate three reasons with evidence to support their response of the analytical question to share with the group.
  •  Have each student complete the Analytical Essay Handout(AEF)
