Journey to the West:

A Field Trip to the Peace Pagoda in Leverett, MA

These pages are designed as a resource for area teachers who after completing a unit on Buddhism may wish to take their students on a field trip to the Buddhist Peace Pagoda in Leverett, Massachusetts. Each page offers a brief overview of the various sites as well as suggested student activities and helpful resource links.

These pages were created as part of the NEH funded Institute, "Cultures and Religions of the Himalayas." Special thanks to Professor Todd Lewis (Holy Cross) and Professor Leonard van der Kuijp (Harvard) for directing the Institute. Thanks as well to Longmeadow High School for supporting teacher professional development opportunities such as this one.
