Approaching Tibetan Studies

It is imperative that students of Tibetan history, culture and politics be mindful of the
conflicting narratives concerning the region.  Given the competing interests and agendas
of those who construct our knowledge of the area, much of what is reported--both in
print and on the Web--is imprecise.  When the truth is elusive, students are well advised
to take the "middle way": rejecting extremist views and accepting with healthy skepticism
the center of the proverbial "Bell Curve"!
