Tibetan Geography

Mt. Everest is located on the Tibet/Nepal border, rising 29,028 feet as the tallest mountain in the Himalaya.
"Even in summer, it does not rain above 15,000 feet in Tibet. All precipitation comes in the form of snow and hail, which rapidly whiten the landscape and the green leaves of the trees (Kling)."
"Southern Tibet is a land of contrasts: sand dunes lie next to fields of newly harvested barley (Kling)."
