Jonathan Garfunkel’s Approaching Tibetan Studies: A Resource Handbook for Educators is a truly excellent source for teachers. The table of contents includes curricular ideas and support, general information about Tibet, and suggested sources for the study of Tibet. All of the material may be copied for educational use.

Les Aventures de Tintin au Tibet allows one to explore many of the major themes relating to Tibet such as:

  1. Geography
  2. Comparisons of the Himalayas with the White Mountains of New Hampshire
  3. Lamas and Buddhism
  4. Tibetan Language
  5. Having friends who are very different from oneself
  6. The “Yeti”
  7. Language families which are very different from English or French
  8. Alphabets or ways or writing which are very different from our own
